(This is the system overview. The command references are
help dragon, help cd and help bespeak, available while
playing a character - use @ic first if you are OOC.)
Dragons and fire-lizards are bonded beasts: Impression is for life,
and a beast always belongs to the character who impressed it.
You control your beast by command prefix, from anywhere:
cddragon say Good morning.
cddragon pose fans his wings.
cddragon sands (walk it through an exit)
(The 'dragon' part is the beast's puppet code - see help cd.)
Whatever the beast sees and hears is relayed back to you with a
[Name] prefix when you're not in its room.
See help dragon for management commands (persona, AI, handler,
relay) and help bespeak for dragon-to-dragon telepathy.
# subtopics
## handlers
Your beast's voice can be another player: dragon/handler
empowers a different player to control it with the same cd prefix.
The bond never moves - only control.
## dragon AI
With dragon/ai <name> = on, an unpuppeted beast reacts on its
own (via an LLM) when addressed by name, bespoken, or when its
rider speaks. Shape its voice with dragon/persona. The AI goes
quiet whenever a player is actively controlling the beast.
## fire-lizard eggs
Fire-lizards are found, not given: search likely spots -
warm beaches and sun-baked sands - for a clutch. Searching
is limited (per account, about once a real week), and your
odds depend on the spot, the season, and how picked-over
the area is.
A found egg keeps for about a real week. Hatch it whenever
you choose with hatch - the hatchling Impresses to
whoever hatches it, so eggs also make fine gifts (give
it away; its time does not reset). Eggs left unhatched too
long are lost.
## dragon pages
Every beast has a page on the website (linked from its rider's
character page) with portrait, description, background, its wiki
pages and the scenes it has appeared in.
